Who we are
VoidRuns is a small, independent team based in Europe. The project is led by a creator who has been posting short-form video since 2020, with content shipped on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts across multiple niches. The development side comes from a software engineering background — production work on web SaaS products, analytics dashboards, and consumer apps.
We are not a marketing agency. We are not affiliated with TikTok Inc., ByteDance Ltd., or any creator featured on this site. Everything published on VoidRuns is original work, based on direct experience posting short-form content and on publicly observable patterns across the platform.
The problem we are solving
Posting a short-form video is a coin flip with bad odds. You spend two hours filming, another hour editing, three minutes writing a caption, and then you watch the view count stall at 287. You have no idea why. The video looked fine. The audio was clean. The lighting worked. Something invisible decided it wasn't worth pushing past the cold-start cohort.
That feeling — staring at TikTok Studio trying to reverse-engineer the algorithm — is the exact problem VoidRuns exists to solve. Not by promising to crack the algorithm (nobody can), but by surfacing the controllable variables that we know correlate with distribution outcomes: hook strength, posting timing, trend leverage, caption design, and content format.

Methodology
Five-factor scoring. The VoidRuns Viral Score weighs hook strength (30 pts), trend leverage (25 pts), posting timing (20 pts), caption design (15 pts), and format quality (10 pts). Weights are based on patterns observed across thousands of public short-form videos. Hook decides retention past three seconds. Trend decides initial distribution. Timing decides whether you hit a fresh audience pool.
Client-side calculator. The free Viral Score Calculator is a deterministic function. You pick a niche, hook type, posting hour, trend status, and caption style — the score is computed in your browser. Nothing leaves your machine, no inputs are stored, no account is required.
AI Profile Analyzer.For real account analysis we call a third-party TikTok data API (RapidAPI's tiktok-api23) to fetch the last ~30 public videos for the @handle you submit, then run a deterministic aggregation in our Cloudflare Worker: posting-hour buckets, day-of-week buckets, hashtag uplift (avg views with vs without each tag), best/worst performer, trending detection (videos from the last 7 days beating 2× the profile average). Results are cached for 1 hour. Free accounts get 3 fresh analyses per 30-day window; Pro accounts are unlimited.
Honest about limits. A score is not a prophecy. Algorithms shift, audiences shift, luck exists, and platform behavior in May 2026 will not be the same as platform behavior in November 2026. VoidRuns surfaces the controllable variables so you can move them in the right direction. It does not promise specific view counts.
Updated quarterly. The scoring model is reviewed every three months against new public data. When the algorithm shifts — and it does, often — the model is recalibrated. Significant changes are disclosed in the case studies section.
Editorial standards
Original analysis only. Every case study, breakdown, and recommendation on this site is written in-house. We do not republish other publications.
Public data only. We do not scrape, access private APIs, or use any data not visible in the public TikTok feed. Sample sizes for any quoted statistic are disclosed in the article body.
Fair use for commentary. When we reference public creators by name, we do so under fair-use commentary and criticism standards. All trademarks remain property of their respective owners. If you are a featured creator and want a correction, reach us via the Contact page.
Corrections policy. If we get something wrong, we correct it in the article body with a dated note. We do not silently re-edit.
